I took the kids to Walmart and made a big mistake of letting them look at the fish. For over a week all we heard was how much the kids wanted fish. We told them that they had to do their chores to earn enough money to get their very own fish.
We took the kids to Petsmart and they picked out 2 Guppies. They were both so excited. We let them hold the fish on their laps in the car, which is something I would not suggest. Ashlyn kept squishing her bag and bouncing it around. I told her that her fish would be dead before we even got home. This didn't phase her.
While in the car she tells us that she is going to eat her fish and I tried to explain that you can't eat this kind of fish. She didn't believe me and just kept saying how she was going to eat it. I told Steve to put the bowl up somewhere very high so that she wouldn't be able to reach it.
I am happy to report that the fish are still alive and have not been eaten.
