NEW CAR! 7/12/2010

We did it. After driving the same car for 8 years we bought a new car. It is a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. It has leather seats and a DVD player. The kids absolutely love that it has a DVD player but hate our rule for it. Our rule is that they can only watch a movie if we are in the car for more than 1 hour.

Hyde Park Celebration! (7/16-7/17)

We had tons of fun at the Hyde Park celebration this year. There were fireworks, bouncy toys, food, a parade, and lots of games. The kids had a blast spending time with their cousins.

Mondays at the Park and Movies on Thursday

This year Alyson, MaryLynn, and I decided to take the kids to a different park in the valley every Monday. It has been so nice to get our of the house and do something fun with the kids. We pack a lunch and let the kids play. The kids love it.

For the past few years we have gone to the summer movies. This year our movie day is on Thursday. The kids get a booster to sit on, eat lots and lots of popcorn, and get to sit with their cousins. After the movie we visit Steve at work and take him our leftover popcorn. Sometimes we even stop and Sonics. What's better than lots of popcorn and a cranberry limeade to wash it down!?!

Father's Day

For Father's Day we made a picnic and went up the canyon. We stopped at Wood Camp and found a picnic area by the river. We had sandwiches, chips, jello, and pop. The kids threw sticks and rocks in the river and blew bubbles. Emma loved the trees and thought that she needed to try and eat them. We were having an awesome time until the camp host told us that we had to pay $7 to eat there and that we should have really been charged $10 because we were ther after 4 (new law for the State to make more money). Who would have guessed that you had to pay to eat a picnic. I hope Steve had a good Father's Day. I want to let Steve know how much we love him and appreciate all that he does for us.

Riley had his last season of T-Ball and he was sooooo sad. Just Kidding. He was really happy because he wanted to play coaches pitch and not T-Ball. He did awesome this year. He hit better, ran faster, and didn't sit in the middle of the field during the game. He made lots of new friends had fun.

Watching brother play ball.

Water Party 06/25/2010

Steve's mom had a water party for all of the grandkids at her house. They had squirt guns, pencil shooters, swimming pool, and water slide. Emma loved the little pool even though it was FREEZING! The kids discovered how much fun it was to use a bucket for a pool. What a relaxing day for me!

Trophy Recital - May 24, 2010

Annie had a trophy dance recital for all of the dance girls and their families. Each group of girls preformed a dance that they learned during the year and then recieved trophies. I am so amazed by how well Ashlyn's group did. I thought they did just as good as the older girls, maybe even a little better. Annie had a photographer come and take all of the girls pictures and then did group photos.

Memorial Day 2010

This year we went camping up High Creek. Riley was so excited to see that Brad, his friend from school was camped right next to us. Riley, Hunter, and Brad rode their bikes, shot BB guns, and played COPS with Grandma Jorgensen. Ashlyn made a new friend this camping trip. Her name is Claire and she is Brad's little sister. Ashlyn, Mackenize, Kiley, and Claire played with dolls, makeup, and rode their bikes. It was so cute to see Kiley following the bigger girls around. Next year it will be Emma's turn to be the tag-along. Steve, Riley, Brad, and Braxton went for a horse ride while the rest of us stayed at camp. I love going camping and being able to spend time with my family.

Reno 2010

This year for bowling we went to Reno, NV. We stayed at the Atlantis and our rooms their were so pretty. The guys bowled, we went to Circus Circus to play the games, and the kids swam. Our family and Steve's brother Brian and his family headed to Disneyland - SeaWorld - LegoLand and everyone else headed home. What a long drive from Reno to Anaheim. We stayed at a Best Western in Anaheim that was a block away from Disneyland.

On Saturday we headed to Legoland which was only an hour away. Riley and Hunter loved Legoland. We went on rides, Ashlyn met a princess, went for a boat ride, and got sunburnt. There was a fast roller coaster ride that Riley, Steve, Mackenize and I went on. The boys LOVED Legoland and are still planning their next trip there.

Early Sunday morning we went to SeaWorld. We stopped at a pull off to see the ocean and we saw the FATTEST squirrels I have ever seen. The kids loved them. Then we went to a beach so the kids could play in the water. We started walking and realized we had stopped at a dog beach. There were dogs everywhere. We had so much fun at SeaWorld. We saw the Shamu show 2 times and of course we had to sit in the Splash Zone. Luckily we didnt really get wet. We got our picture taken with Shamu. The kids loved the water rides. Riley and Hunter got soaked. There were fun rides for the kids to go on and a Sesame Street play land.

On Monday and Tuesday we were at Disneyland. I was not prepared for the weather, the lines, the walking, walking, walking, or the teething baby (Emma). Ashlyn loved the princess' and the not fast or up and down rides. We stood in the Princess line for about 45 minutes so that the girls could get their pictures taken with the princess' and to get their autographs. Riley loved the fastest and craziest rides. There were a few rides that we would get off of and then get right back in line because Riley loved them so much. I had no idea he would love them like he did. We went to California Adventures and Riley found a ride that he absolutely had to go on. It is called the Paradise Pier. It was an intense ride. For most of the ride you were sideways and then the loops and going a thousand miles a minutes. He wanted to ride it again but my stomach couldn't handle it and Steve wasnt too sure about it. What a blast we had.

We left Disneyland at 9:00 pm at started our trip home. We had thought about driving straight home but around 1:00 am we decided to stop in Las Vegas and get a hotel room. We stayed at the Stratosphere. The next morning we dragged ourselves out of bed and drove to St. George to see Tracina and her family. Our kids were so excited to play with their cousins.

I was so excited that we were able to take our kids to these fun places. It was so fun to see their different personalities, likes, and dislikes.

April Updates

Emma turned 6 months old on 4/22/10. She finally started crawling and rolling over. Emma and Ashlyn had appointments on the same day. Emma had to get 3 shots on her legs. She was not a happy girl.

Weight: 18.69 lbs 91%
Length: 26.75" 82%
Head: 16.8" 52%
She is loving her baby food. She loves sweet potatoes and hates peas. She constantly wants to be held and loved. Emma loves her bath time. Everyday I see a change in her and I can't believe how big she is getting.

Ashlyn turned 4 on 04/27/10. We had a birthday party for her at our house. I made ham and potato soup and instead of cake and icecream she wanted brownies. Crazy Girl! She got lots of fun things for her birthday.

Ashlyn's Dance Recital

Miss Annie had her end of year dance recital at Sky View on 04/15/2010. Ashlyn was so excited to go on the stage and dance. From the moment that she woke up she was wanting to put her costume on. She looked so cute and did an amazing job. We are so proud of her.

April Update: Easter

The kids went to a couple of Easter Egg Hunts this year. We started out at KMart which I will never do again. There were soooooooooo many people there. Then we took Riley to the bowling alley so that he could bowl for the "Logan Lane PeeWee's". We headed to the mall and I was surprised at how organized the hunts were. Then we went to both Lee's. Crazy! The kids had lots of fun looking at what the Easter Bunny bought them and they love the Easter Egg Hunts. Emma wasn't too sure about the eggs but she let me get a few cute pictures. Steve's parents had their annual Easter Party at their house. We went to th church on Main St in Hyde Park and the kids had an Easter Egg Hunt. Then we had dinner, had our Family Night lesson, and the kids go to go to the Easter Store. We had an amazingly fun Easter weekend.

A new toy for Emma!

The first part of April my SIL Melissa let me borrow her exer saucer??. I was hoping that Emma would love it and that I wouldn't have to hold her all day. She loved it but for no longer than 5 minutes. Oh well. It was worth a try!
